Author, Illustrator, Watercolors, Current and Future Books

Jane L. Fitzpatrick is an award-winning screenwriter and author. She wrote the epic script Sacajawea, The Windcatcher about the life of the Shoshone woman, Sacajawea. In addition, she wrote a children’s book based on her research entitled, The Grass Maiden, Sacajawea (2017) and a presentation book for the film called The Path (2019) with concept artist Marcia K. Moore. Jane also wrote the award-winning inspirational book Awakening (2021) – the first in the Embrace Book Series, and the award-winning preteen book Crabtree: Lost Kids of Borealonon (2022) – the first in the Crabtree Series, also to be produced as an animated film.

Shawna N. Fitzpatrick is an eclectic designer and artist working with illustrator and photoshop. She earned her B.A. in Costume and Fashion Design at the Art Institute in Seattle, WA, where she also learned to illustrate books and greeting cards. Shawna created the illustrations for the children’s books, The Grass Maiden, Sacajawea and Crabtree: Lost Kids of Borealonon.

Faith V. Halseth and Jane L. Fitzpatrick, a granddaughter/grandmother duo, with instruction from Jerah R. Fitzpatrick, painted the beautiful watercolors for the book The Grass Maiden, Sacajawea, from photographs they took along the Lewis and Clark trail, and Faith designed the cover for the children’s novel Crabtree: Lost Kids of Borealonon.

Future Books include: 
The Picture Doll (2027) a children’s Christmas story about loving, giving, and receiving so much more than “things.” And two new books (Vol. II and Vol. III) in the Embrace Series, We Are Light (2026) and Messages in the Sky (2027).

In addition, Walking With Sacajawea: DESTINY (2026) is a unique take on the journey to tell Sacajawea’s story. It presents four perspectives to include the Screenplay showing excerpts from Sacajawea, The Windcatcher. Written Reflection through the author’s insights. A Narration of historical events. And Sacajawea’s feelings through Her Voice. There are photographs throughout from authentic locations visited by the author.

And Petunia the Pink Tyrannosaurus Rex (2027) a story for young children about how a dull, lonely island of grays, greens, and browns, changes when a bright pink baby Tyrannosaurus Rex is hatched. The message is about love, acceptance, and diversity.
